The baby has raised a fresh lease of hope for the Israeli couple and they can hardly hold back their sense of pride. The couple's courageous step comes at a time when India is debating the validity of Section 377 and several gay rights activists have been lobbying to scrap this outdated legislation. Fertility Specialist Dr Gautam Allahabadia says, "The sequel to Dostana will probably start with the children of such families." After a painstaking and careful selection of the egg donor, Omer and Yonatan shortlisted only those who scored high on IQ. The cuddly baby Evyatar has celebrated the completion of one month of his birth. It was a bold move by the Israeli gay couple to let the world see their IVF baby, but will this signal a way forward for same sex couples in India who have been rallying hard to secure their rights? Dr Gautam Allahabadia says, "Once the law is repealed in India, it will be interesting to see how many Indian gay couples will come forward." Though the couple is from a relatively orthodox country, their decision to have a family will give hope to other gay couples worldwide.
