How to Keep Your Baby Safe From Accidents

Every parent knows that, try as they might, they cannot keep their baby 100 percent safe from various accidents that may happen anywhere, anytime.
Nevertheless, you can contribute a lot to keeping your baby as safe as possible by making him understand the dangers he is exposed to. Sign language is the best method for this.

Imagine your baby sits in front of an accidentally open door, outside is snowing and freezing and the baby gets out. By the time you realize this, junior has got a horrible influenza, in the happiest case. And when you know you could have prevented this! Or your little baby may accidentally get burned while being very close to the fire in the chimney. You know that babies, when they are attracted by a certain object, they usually tend to touch it and even take it to their mouth. Babies want to swallow everything.

You should seriously consider learning Don 't signs. For example, the "Stop" sign is very effective in various situations. Simply hold one hand in a shaking hand position and put the other hand so that the palm is facing up. Then, move your hand to come down on your palm.

"Wait" is another sign that should be done with our baby. Waiting is not a very easy task for anybody, and doing this with your baby would be extremely beneficial for you and him in the long run. Pose your palms facing up and fingertips curled. Then, simply wiggle your fingertips. It may be a bit hard at first, but after a few attempts, you 'll see it really works.

"Careful" is another sign that should be taken into consideration when signing with your baby. Think for a moment how nice would it be to actually tell your baby to be very attentive to what he 's doing, as it can be dangerous and accidents can occur. The sign for "Careful" is made by shaping the "K" letter with your hands, turning them sideways and tapping a few times.

"Hot" and "Cold" are two other useful signs in order to keep your baby safe from various accidents that might occur. The sign for "Hot" is shaping the C letter with one hand, place your fingertips under your nose, then move away your hand from your mouth, facing it away. This sign imitates a quick turning away from something that is hot. The "Cold" sign is very easy to be made, simply place your both fists at the shoulder level and shake your arms, just like when you are shivering in the cold.
